This week's Tuesday wasn't quite as awesome as last week, possibly due to the fact that WE'RE ALL DYING FROM MIDSEM EXAMS/QUIZZES but yeah nevertheless, i like seeing people at uni. (note "people" haha) Stressing out together is better than stressing out alone at home, pulling hairs out, having a cry etc. I've even resorted to drinking V again, except i realised that my previous V stash (from finals last semester) tasted a little bit odd... does V go off?!

Looking forward to:
-temporary freedom after fins1613 quiz next tuesday!
-shopping after midsems!
-nice warm weather and going to the beach!

Our host screwed up or something and we lost a years worth of posts, gooodbye to all our rant about hsc and finishing high school! It feels like a year of our lives have been erased from memory... Mid-sems pretty much begin next week and boy do i feel fucked. Catching up with FINS1613 and QMB as soon as i came back from overseas was a must - due to the quizzes we had the following week. But accounting and macro are stressing me out atm, accounting especially. Most of us are trying to figure out how cashflowstatement's work and personally i'm confused... asset revaluation reserve? accumulated depreciation? disposal? acquisition? WOULD SOMEONE (LIKE YEE) PLEASE ENLIGHTEN ME?!

The other day, some of the girls cameover after uni for a bit of fun... haha heart dara!

FINALLY FINALLY FINISHED FINISHED SPEAKING.
Terrible terrible but lets never talk about it again ! yay. x)

So we arrived at JAMESCOOK at around 7:30. Waited to start the exam which started at 9:30. Finished at around 9:45 since we were one of the first people there. Cried a bit after the exam. Walked to Kogarah. Trained it to CENTRAL with Rachel&Kitty.

Spent almost an hour at SMIGGLE. Ate pancakes/lasagne at COFFEE CLUB. Was joined by Johnson, Bec, Sandra. Kitty departed for tutoring. Went home to smell better. Watched others eat Maccas. Played PICTIONARY at Norita. Left Norita. Rachel departed for tutoring.

Met up with some non-uber people. x) Ditched for KARAOKE at Phoenix. Must go again very soon!

How to ...
Ace HSC Speaking

Well I'm going to compile a list of what I didn't do to help those who are yet to complete their HSC speaking

What I didn't do / What you should do

1) Stress.
Unlike me. If you don't stress, you'll fail. I slept the whole day before extension ... and failed.

2) Dress Warmly.
Yep, dressed like a slut on 1st Saturday of speaking. Ended up with "respiratory tract infection" and failed all succeeding examinations. (Not implying that I didn't fail preceding ones anyway)

3) If you don't know anything about China, don't pretend you do.
During my continuers I got caught out from pretending to be patriotic.
"I support China =D"
"So are you Chinese?"
"Yes, indeed."
"Tell me about your culture"
"UHHHHH"

4) Top tip for extension students: LEARN ABOUT ABOS
WHY?! Didn't I learn about Abos. And the stupid question was "Saying sorry is the key to solving conflicts in relationships. Do you agree? (paraphrased)"
Great chance to talk about "THE apology" except I knew nothing about it.
Yeah, I know you guys are thinking "Why the fuck don't you know about your own race?"

Yeah .. That's about all I can think of.

Trials are FINALLY over which makes me super happy x). Although it felt like it was already over last Friday since I didn't really bother studying for Business. And DAMN that English assessment next week!

So I figured that I'm most likely going to HK from 4th of Dec to 9th of Jan I think. I only half want to go since I wanted to spend NYE here but OH WELL at there is still MRSKY before I leave. LOL at my mum who told me NOT to go MRSKY.

I finally decided to change the layout of the blog. The layout was created a week or two ago but since I wasn't sick of the previous layout, I didn't change it until yesterday.

AND I'M SO GLAD YOU GUYS LIKE IT! I was worried at first that it was too plain or too girly or too messy. I also know that some people *cough* mariekahyi *cough* want their faces in the layout which hasn't been done due to the lack of photos I have but that will come probably some time before HSC.

I also managed to create a new layout for OHKVJ last night. It was very tempting to promote Amiable Thoughts everywhere possible on the page BUT all I did was put ONE link.

Designing the layout wasn't hard since it was a potential design for Amiable Thoughts however coding was a bitch! It took me almost 3 hours...I stayed up till 2am purely CODING. It took long cause a) I'm noob with blogdrive b) I'm really bad at coding with tables. The positioning of the tables kept going funny. By 1am, everything seemed perfect on Mozilla UNTIL I tested on IE the positioning went retarded T_T. On the same night, Sandra decided to convert the layout back to the old one by accident so I had to recode it. I think my eyes went square last night.

Victor...I'm going to remember the fact that you said you're buying your MRSKY ticket x) I don't care if it's coins. Money is money =) I'm gonna keep evidence just in case ...

With trials mixed with studying and lack of sleep, I think I've blogged the most in these two weeks since the blog was opened. It's been my only form of procrastination, which is recommended by Sandra.

I can't believe I managed to make it through this week. Until last night, I've been getting 2 to 4 hours of sleep this week and by Friday, I looked like shit. Actually I still look shit x)

Today is a good day, despite the fact that i have screwed up all my exams lol. Trials are finally over! (well for me, chloe and thao anyway). This week has been hectic, and i'm sure we've all been deprived of sleep thanks to our lovely friend, the TRIALS. If only i could turn back time and studied harder throughout the year instead of stressing my brains out during this short period of time. And as ron's HSC timer informs me, there's only 70 more days till HSC! (btw ron, i hate seeing that everytime i go on your blog lol as it reinforces how much time i've wasted & i remember than only a while ago it was like 100+ days) STUDY!

Anyway, I would like to give all my goodluck to ky, fiona, ko, aaron and all those doing part of their HSC tomorrow! Hope you guys ace indo & chinese! At least it'll be one exam down after tomorrow. Also, goodluck to all those you have not yet completed/started their trials yet, study hard! :)

Well I found a boiled egg in the fridge this morning so I decided to heat it up in the microwave. After about 10seconds I heard this *BOOM* noise so I opened the microwave only to find the egg splattered around the sides of the microwave >.<

ANYWAYS...

Whilst researching the "Elektra complex" for Module B.

I found...

According to Freud, a girl, like a boy, is originally attached to the mother figure. However, during the phallic stage, when she discovers that she lacks a penis, she becomes libidinally attached to the father figure, and imagines that she will become pregnant by him, all the while becoming more hostile toward her mother. Freud attributes the character of this developmental stage in girls to the idea of "penis envy", where a girl is envious of the male penis. According to the theory, this penis envy leads to resentment towards the mother figure, who is believed to have caused the girl's "castration". The hostility towards the mother is then later revoked for fear of losing the mother's love, and the mother becomes internalized, much the same as the Oedipus Complex.

Ahaha something quite amusing just happened so I thought I'd take a nice (un)well-earned break from studying (nothing).

There's a fire alarm device in each apartment which rings a siren (like the one you hear on fire trucks) and has a voice that says...

"THE FIRE ALARM HAS BEEN ACTIVATED, PLEASE WAIT FOR INSTRUCTIONS"

Well for the past few weeks it activated randomly followed by a "Fire alarm check complete"

Lol the first time I heard it i thought shit i'm going to die, then the random activations got be ignoring the siren completely.

BUT TODAY it just kept ringing and ringing and ringing and the voice kept repeating
"THE FIRE ALARM HAS BEEN ACTIVATED, PLEASE WAIT FOR FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS"

and then... the instruction came...

"THE FIRE ALARM HAS BEEN ACTIVATED, IMMEDIATELY LEAVE THE BUILDING THROUGH THE NEAREST FIRE EXIT"

Lol that got a reaction going from me (and my parents too)

Mum: "I don't think it's a real fire"
Dad: "I don't want to die... I'm going to check what's happening"

So my dad goes outside, leaving me and my mum to "die"

Whilst my dad was out, the siren stopped ringing and then my dad comes back.

Dad: "There's four/five fire trucks downstairs. Some kid in level 8 started burning paper and set the fire alarm off"

Yes I found the whole incident amusing. I was even prepared to take my english essays out with me if evacuation was really necessary. Lol. Marie doesn't have a life anymore anywaayy.

BUT YES i should get back to whatever I was doing.

Haven't seen everyone for sooo long (minus chloe and sandra)! How's studying going? =O I haven't studied properly... in fact I'm procrastinating right now so if I fail HSC it's cause of amiable-thoughts >=|. I'm suppose to be helping Jeff study for his 2u tomorrow but I think he's doing fine without my help =)

Staying at home hasn't helped much since all I do is eat and sleep. I think I've ~~eating~~ eaten half my time out box by now... so much for making a profit T_T AND it's making me FAT! I've ~~went~~ buffet-ed twice in the mere two weeks... in fact I just came back from buffeting. Had to stuff down 5 plates of food in half an hour but I shouldn't complain ... free food is free food x).

AND HOW DID PEOPLE GO IN UMAT?? *looks at Ky and Melinda and anyone else* I tried out section 3 of the paper today and realised I'll never be a doctor even with 100UAI (not that it's happening). However, I hope you guys aced it! I'm sure you guys aced it *flicks hand*

OH AND I don't have a phone at the moment CORRECTION I have a phone with a disconnected sim. The story is that my dad found out that the plan actually ended in the beginning of April hence he decided to call up and disconnect straight away. Now I DON'T have a phone and I HAVE to get a new number T_T... So don't bother calling or texting me anytime soon!

I shall go back to 'studying' now and leave you with this...

Haha I found this floating around in my USB. Anyway, although I used the name of a real person ( without her permission as well, might I add), the events and personality traits described below are purely fictional.

Yeah ... work in progress. Will finish after trials (possible might even have to wait until after HSC -- maybe not, I would probably be tempted to finish it)

*Yet to think of a title*

Rays of sunlight dispersed into the cold and empty classrooms. The constricted corridors emanated with clamorous noises from fresh prey. Marie Zuo. Seventeen. Roll Call : 12F. She was back.

The adrenalin had started to pump. She had discovered a newly heightened sense of viciousness within her. As she approached the cupboard of trophies won by girls whose names she never bothered to inquire the names of, she instinctively checked out her reflection on the bronze awards that she will never make an effort to receive.

However, a mere glimpse at her perfect self was never quite enough for Marie. She reached for her compact mirror and scrutinised at her glistening pout. Unsatisfied, she laboriously applied yet another coat of viscous, pink gunk. Much better. Smugly, she ploughed her way through the sea of shrimpy juniors. Overstatement? I think not. One of them only reached up to the top of her fashionably shortened skirt. At least she was never as short and underdeveloped as them.

Marie was not callow and superficial. Mainly just uninspired and unambitious. Sweeping her freshly cut-and-highlighted-job to the side, she strode down the carpeted path. Was it the path to enlightenment perhaps? Because as we all know, self knowledge must surely prevail from one’s journey. And as we all know, Marie had been “journeying” quite a lot lately. Or maybe, this path leads to enlightenment, or illumination. After all, a neglected site of memory had been retrieved. She finally remembered her way to her locker after six long years of the mundane, yet fulfilling lifestyle she had led in the buildings that surrounded her. The countless bricks and blue framed doors that practically molded her identity.

Plausible as the explanations above were, the true destination of this passageway was, in fact, the principal’s office.

Marie had never been inside the principal’s office before. Her closest approach had always been the patch of distastefully stained carpet in the corridor, half a metre from the ominous aperture containing the shrewd, messed-up, poor excuse for a woman inside. In other words, the principal’s door.

Today, however, was not like any other. It was the first day of her last year at school. Surely she should indulge in a spontaneous sport, inspecting the one room in the whole building that she had never visited before. She knew for a fact that the principal is having coffee with her henchmen. Her two deputies. Probably discussing a plot to overturn the democratic system of the country.

Slowly, she turned the large doorknob. As she did so, she felt a shock of electricity surge through her body. The door seemed to fling open by itself, and revealed a trove of narcissistic portraits of the principal.

Bus Boy

Ever since the start of high school, I’ve been catching the same bus. Too many days in a year is an understatement. Although, one comes to enjoy the methodical routine of doing the same thing every day. As for someone with a pleasant disposition like me, this quotidian activity has been coupled with a few interesting, maybe even life changing events. Like when that old lady with the mustard dress almost fell out of the window the other day from attempting to catch her hat which had decided to elope with the wind. Or when that boorish primary school ruffian stuck a chewing gum on a business man who’s already ruffled from being late to his 9am meeting.

Being Asian, my parents have imposed a sort of curfew. So basically, my life revolves around the journey from the patch of grass bus stop 200 metres from my home, and the bus stand in front of a sophisticated café brimming with those artsy types. Thankfully they have provided me with a state of the art laptop, despite their “penny wise, pound – even wiser” ideals, to assist me with my studies. I have spent the last five years, locked up in my room, playing situational, strategic games that will, no doubt, feed me with relevant information pertaining to life’s journey. With only their own gullibility to blame, my parents vaingloriously boast to their study orientated Asian friends about the intransigent diligence of their only son. True, to some extent. Just not towards my studies

Due to my absence from the social scene during the last five years, I have not made any friends. Breaks and lunches were spent undisturbed under the tree in the unnoticed quadrangle, behind the rumoured haunted laboratory. During my more junior and less informed years, some year seven girls might come around to threaten me for my lunch money. Subsequently, I’ve learnt my lesson, and dyed my hair a fashionable sunset-orange, despite the disgusted horrors of my Asian parents. Those prepubescent girls never bothered me again.

Unfortunately, as a result of my life enriching and benefiting RPGs*, I have become a creature of the night. School has become a fleeting blur. To me, it is six hours of precious time, catching up on sleep crucial to any adolescent boy.

But somehow, I cannot bring myself to sleep on the bus. Every morning at eight fifteen a-m, she gets on my bus. Her shoes, impeccably polished without fail, make a beautiful, musical resonance on the metal of the step, comparable to Pachelbel’s Canon. Her shiny, smooth peroxide-blonde hair glistens in the light reflected by the glasses of the blind man sitting in front of the bus. As she glides down the aisle, the voices of angels reverberate in my ears, and the world seems like a much better place.

But today is the day. As she takes her seat in her usual spot, I mean throne, at the back, I inconspicuously shift to the spot next to her. Feeling more and more subhuman in comparison, I steal a glance at her and utter nervously the fatal word, “Hi”.

She turns, exhibits half a sign of minimal contemplation, and wrinkles her nose. Then, looking like she has just stepped on unidentified goo, her translucent angel-like face becomes uncharacteristically contorted. She shoots me a look that cut into the neurons in my brains, sending chills down my spine. Then, she gracefully slides her bottom away from me, and longingly stares out the window, fluttering her mascara coated eyelashes at the world below.

What. Was. That.

I am simply a good-natured god-fearing teenage boy who just couldn’t be bothered to understand the world around him. Heck, it’s just because I’m Asian. Although I look like a wannabe gangster, I am actually capable of comprehensible speech in the English language.

Defeated, I trudge back to my seat, behind the old lady with the mustard dress. Hm, she even smells like mustard. But this unforeseen event has indeed taught me a well learnt life-lesson. Never again shall I venture outside my world of WoW and DotA**. Never again.

Tonight was AWESOME. Luckily you guys missed tipps!

It was our school's annual INSPIRED evening consisting of textiles, drama and dance.
This year was much better than last, even the junior years were quite impressing. =)

BUT YEAR 12. was the best of the best of the best.
We were all overwhelmed by how gorgeous the garments were. very overwhelmed.
lol. Carmen's waterworks led onto more waterworks by none other than the now emo-haired one. Oh yes and Lucy was the hawt photographer chloe was perving on.

ONE thing ruined the aftermath for me. this goes to show why i really dislike these KINDS of people. But nevermind me. Have a look at some photos!

Make money after failing the HSC

Inspired by Bec Tran's MSN name (B e c's prepared to fail) I have compiled a list of future occupations for those who might get a * UAI (not that I'm insinuating your downfall Bec ... I swear !)

Since my Indonesian HSC Speaking (ARGH !!! !!! !!! ) is coming up in exactly (give or take ) a month, most of my ideas stem from my prescribed theme of "Poverty and Wealth". Don't worry Bec, with my great ideas, your assumed "poverty" after HSC will miraculously turn into multitudinous "wealth".

So anyway Bec, I'm sure with our excellent welfare program (*cough*) under the Rudd government (*double cough*), you will never feel the full effects of poverty unlike the little people in Indonesia. However, if you want to make some extra cash ($$), it would do you well to follow the footsteps of the street kids of the wonderful country Shappelle Corby calls gaol.

(Overusage of parenthesis = bane of my HSC English essays)

Future jobs for Bec:

1) Beggar
I can't imagine Bec as a beggar (yet) but maybe you can take some pointers from Yee "Hut Yee" Man Ho, and live in Hobo Park, Central. I mean, you practically live there anyway, right ?

2) Busker
Again, this profession doesn't seem to suit you since you ... don't ... really ... have any talents.

3) Scavenger
You could actually make some money by selling broken pieces of plastic from the ground. Seriously.

4) Child (preceeding 17/12/08) Prostitute
I can safely say that this would be the best future occupation for Bec. With your powers of seduction and lack of moral aptitude you are perfect for this job! Except I forgot to take into account the factor that... no one would ... want you ...

Well Bec, it seems like you have exhausted my Indonesian vocabulary in terms of jobs for the down and out of society. I guess the best thing you can do now is leech of Marie. =(

Blog in the name of conformism

Since we've been thoroughly inundated with ~~black~~ R & B (to be P.C.) music lately, I have no doubts in my mind that this blog has been indeed transformed into some contemporary R&B/ harlemesque/distasteful Asian dance-type music culture site. The types of music that I avoid at all cost, due to my inability to associate with its lyrical content (in some cases the only words I can understand are "bad boy") and pervasive beats.

It's not that I dislike Asian music. I do like the odd soulful yet catchy tune that Carmen belts out at K. Although, I do feel bad for bagging out some random girl's taste in music during tutor. She must hate me now ...

But yeah, in an act of hypocrisy, I have jumped the bandwagon, and am posting my own "interest". It's mainstream softcore music, so you'll be quite familiar with it.
Anyway, check out Violet Hill. It kinda makes you think a bit .

I had also stumbled across this very nostalgic rhyme:

If I remember correctly I was born on a Friday. Due to my great mathematical abilities I am able to calculate that Yee's birthday was on a Monday, Sandra's was on a Wednesday, and Marie's was on a Sunday. Yay. Loving and giving. What'd I say ? =)

On another note, this is a list of slightly humourous happenings on Tuesday afternoon at tutor :
- stole Dr Du's magnet (that he uses to pin up the list of top students that week), urged on by Fiona.
- felt chicken afterwards and hid the magnet in his drawer. (notice the symbolic nature of this sentence "...chick...magnet...")
- ironically, Fiona ended up being the top student. She missed out on having her glory pinned up on the whiteboard.
- Melinda and I acted like complete losers, highfiving at nothing every 10 seconds
- made fun of Connie pissing on her chair
- Fiona couldn't see Connie's piss stains for 2 minutes and is unable to comprehend what the people around her were laughing about
- she was enlightened after she put on her glasses.

LIFE IS VERY DEPRESSING AT THE MOMENT!

What the HELL is with electronics and me?! In the past few years, I'm guessing that I have ruined more electronics than anyone I know has ruined in their lifetime. Trust me, I'm not exaggerating x(

Have you ever put your phone through the washing machine?

Unfortunately, you've read correctly Bec (who's dubbed as the bitchiest in the group *totally not true*) is being BULLIED by none other than MARIE ZUO!!! Sitting next to Marie in eco means having her stuff my calculator up her skirt or stuff my pencil case down her skirt. But today...she made me to her Prior work instead so she was "nicer" to me. Meaning she stole my iPod but didn't put it up her skirt or down her shirt (hopefully O.o).

However today turned out to be a good day because... WOOLWORTHS HAD A LINDT CHOCOLATE SALE!!!! I couldn't help myself...so I ended up buying five blocks worth of chocolate which are going to lead to fat and pimples. YAY. BUT JEFF STOLE MY LINDOR BLOCK *GLARES*. I can't believe I forgot he stole it and let him get away with it... bet he planned it all along =O!

Good news no. 2: Bec's got a phone now x)! I didn't get a new phone...instead I got my old one back. The one that doesn't ring or vibrate =S HOWEVER it's better than having this useless thing...

May 1st --> Yee's younger bro is getting married for knocking up some chick

So she decided to trick us back today with
"Ron's house got rolled and they took his wii, monitor and camera"

Needless to say we all didn't believe her. Especially since Ron hasn't made a commotion ... and he should have been over the roof if his most prized (albeit only) possessions were stolen.

Anyway during recess Marie tricked Bec Tran (probably the only one Marie wanted to trick) but told our whole group anyway .

I dunno if the other people believed her but ...

Argh I've forgotten what I wanted to write about

Well, today was an exceptionally ordinary day . Yep, totally uneventful ..
Although .. I keep thinking that there's something, or someone, I've forgotten ...

Anyway, yeah I had easy mac . Took 4 minutes to cook . I timed myself =) . Where was I?
Oh yeah.
Connie has been a great friend of amiable-thoughts throughout the years. She has stuck with us through rough times and happy times and magic mushroom times. I swear, Connie looks younger every year. That's how she managed to have an affair with a certain beloved math tutor.

But really, CONNIE would make an EXCELLENT comedian. You'll make bucket loads of money and make your mummy proud of you. Not unlike Russell Peters. (LoL I had actually forgotten his name and had to google "indian+canadian+comedian")
Some of the more humourous phrases that she came out with were :

- While discussing Brave New World / Bladerunner in English, the teacher came around to check on what she was doing.

“Yeah Miss, we’re just disgusting” (She meant to say discussing)

- While discussing Buddhism

“ Yeah (insert name here) has incest in her house” (She meant to say incense)

- While discussing evolution

“Do you believe in revolution?” (She meant to say evolution)

- Getting angry and Melinda and me:

“ You guys are cycle” (She meant to say psycho)

And lastly who could forget Winnay’s profound, but nevertheless highly entertaining joke:

How to ...
Make Soy Sauce Milk Tea

As promised, I have taken time off my hectic (cough) schedule to entertain the devoted readers with a lowdown on Saturday's events.

Basically what happened was ...
1) After English tutoring, Marie wanted to eat at Yee's restaurant (now closed) one last time.
2) She invited everyone but everyone declined due to lack of funds.
3) Thao agreed to go after asking Marie if she could borrow some money.
4) Ky initially declined, but can't resist the hedonistic temptation, resorting to borrowing money off Marie.
5) Marie was once again, golddug. (But we paid her back today)
6) We ate delicious food and ordered milk tea.
7) Marie got a call and went out of the restaurant.
8) Yee came out with a positively devious idea. Went to kitchen. Poured half a cup of soysauce and added some milk. (Look at video)

9) Ky took Marie's milk tea.
10) Marie drank soy sauce milk tea. (Look at video)

11) Funny time. After that we tried new concoction. (Look at video)

12) Carmen and Kevin turned up.
13) We proceeded to trick Carmen. Kevin looks on with caution.
14) Carmen was tricked, alas her reaction was below par. (Look at video)

15) Fiona called. To say she's coming. Excitement brews once again.
16) Had fun predicting Fiona's responses.
The plan:
Ky will pretend to own soy sauce milk tea.
Ky will pretend to dislike "milk tea"
Ky will offer milk tea to Carmen, who will reject it.
Fiona will proceed to offer to drink the "milk tea".
17) Fiona came. Fiona took the bait. Planned response above came true.
18) Fiona decides to be difficult and asks for a different straw. Yee was obliging.
19) Marie is secretly filming with phone. Pretends to text. Can't keep straight face.
20) Fiona takes a looooonnnggg sip.
